Words from Our Families

I cannot say enough GOOD things about this studio!! So I will start at the beginning, I remember our first class was a "try class" and both kids wanted to do Hip Hop, so we showed up to the class and I remember going to Miss Vada after that class and introducing myself and I brought up the obvious that my youngest has Down Syndrome and did she think this class was a good fit for him. Lol I laugh because the look Miss Vada gave was one I normally give people, you know that one.. "like what". And she responded with yea he is fine here and SO he has Down Syndrome and the rest is history! They both made true friendships and grew as dancers. That year at recital is one I will NEVER forget, you see as a special needs parent true inclusion is sometime SO hard to find but never with 3m, so rectial finale dance is going on and certain kids had parts they came to center stage and do a dance, not sure how it happen but next thing I knew my guy is center stage doing a little break dance and EVERYONE is cheering him on! Not one person tried to stop him because it wasn't part the show instead they encouraged him to be him. I sat in that crowd and cried the proudest of tears. It seems so small but the impact was oh so big!! πŸ’™πŸ’š

The next year we decided to dive right into the dance world a little further, my daughter joined competitive teams and added a few more rec classes and my guy stayed in hip hop. To watch my daughter break into her shell of the dancer she has always wanted to be, has been such a beautiful thing to watch. With the fostering of 3M, Miss Vada and Miss Marvin day in and day out I watch my girl mature in all areas of herself.

You see not only at 3m do they teach dance, They hold all these amazing extras for their dancers! They teach self- esteem, mental-health well being, anti bullying, inclusion, self-awareness, team building skills, respect for themselves and eachother and so much more. Above and beyond!

We can't wait for season 3 to start as we dive even further into the dance world with the BEST studio ever!! πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’š
Thank you 3M and 3M families

My daughter started dancing with 3M in fall 2019, unfortunately because of Covid her time in the studio was cut short. The studio has handled it amazingly though, and quickly offered Zoom classes for the dancers. My daughter loved the online classes, at first I worried about how the classes would work but they do an amazing job and she has really improved over the summer doing the Zoom classes. We are excited to be back in studio now (and they're taking every precaution with returning to the studio as well), but the online classes are an amazing way to stay dancing if you can't return to the studio :)

Awesome no other way to describe it. Everyone is like a family to me the teachers make everything so much fun and everyone is hilarious!
~Lev Khaimovich April 2020

You and team have done such a wonderful job of bringing out the talent of these young people. The love of the dance shines in their faces when the music starts. You should be so proud of all you and team have done !!!! Our granddaughter loves every minute !!!!!
-Jan Hofstra Reid- Dance Grandparent~

My daughter has been dancing with her 3M Family for two years now and we love the studio! The atmosphere is family oriented and there are so many opportunities for her with nothing pushed or forced on you or your dancer. The studios prices are also fair and not ridiculously high which allowed us to place my daughter into more classes. My daughter absolutely loves dancing and she has learned so much in her short time which includes confidence and respect for her dance teachers and her dance friends. We couldn't be happier or recommend them enough to everyone πŸ’™πŸ’š
~Melissa Finlayson September 2019~

My daughter has been with 3M going in to her second full year and we couldn’t be happier! This studio is like a family and they have been incredibly welcoming and made every effort to give her so many opportunities to grow. Because of her time here, she has developed the most amazing passion for dance πŸ’šπŸ’™ 3M has taught her so much in such a short time, we can’t wait to see her continue to grow and challenge herself, dancing with this amazing studio πŸ’šπŸ’™

The African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” certainly applies to our dance family as so many have all played a huge role in helping Aubrey and Finley grow in a happy, healthy, positive and safe environment. First and foremost, thank you Vada Marvin and Bonnie Marvin for believing in the girls, pushing them to new heights and providing them with so many amazing opportunities on and off the stage! Thank you to the intermediates who are such wonderful role models, friends and teammates to the girls. Thank you to all the other dance moms ( and dadsπŸ˜‰), couldn’t do it without you! Already looking forward to next year!πŸ’šπŸ’™

This studio is a wonderful studio and I am very grateful that we found it. Vada and Bonnie at the studio are amazing! They are welcoming, supportive and dedicated. They encourage and challenge the dancers in a safe fun environment and provide many opportunities to help build strong confident dancers with lasting memories. This is our second dance season with 3M (6th season dancing) and what an amazing year it has been, from Argos, Raptors and Globetrotters halftime performances, workshops, parade's, community fundraiser, team dinners, bowling, civic awards, parties, competitions and recital. Memories have been made, new friendships formed and and old ones grown. This was a fantastic year with a lot of personal growth for many of the dancers. The Dance families there are just as welcoming, helpful and supportive as the studio staff and I'm not sure I would have made it through are first competitive season without them. And all of the dancers WOW they are absolutely wonderful, I love watching all of them take to the stage! The love and support they show to their fellow team mates is outstanding! Thank you all again for the wonderful year I cannot wait to see what next year brings. πŸ’™πŸ’š
Highly recommend for anyone looking for the best dance experience for their children.

After having the pleasure of hosting 3M Dance Works at one of our competitions this past season. We can say with absolute confidence that this studio cares about their dancers. The faculty were very organized, which made for a comfortable atmosphere for their dance team prior to going onstage to perform. We'd be happy to host 3M anytime and hope we get the opportunity soon!
~Shock Dance Challenge May 2019~

3M Dance Works has been a super positive experience for our family! We have been part of the 3M family for 3 years with my 14 year old boy and 10 year old girl, both recreationally and competitively. The instructors have created a wonderful atmosphere where the kids are challenged and we can see their physical and artistic progression. They are learning dedication & discipline, while at the same time they feel nurtured and enjoy going to practice. I love that they are exposed to music and putting emotion and movement together to embody their feelings. They have both asked to do more classes! The confidence they have gained through hard work, the thrill of competing and the ability to perform in front of an audience will last them throughout their lives - in business, when speaking in front of an audience, and in their educational pursuits. My kids have performed for community and charitable events and been recognized by the local civic awards committee, and they have performed in large sporting venues such as Raptors, Argos and Harlem Globetrotters. Being a smaller company, 3M Dance Works was able to give them focus and more opportunities to try many dance styles, compete & perform. We are getting a lot out of our 3M experience and my kids are learning to give back as well.
~Wendy Fenton May 2019~

This is my Daughters 2nd year with 3M and we absolutely love it! There are lots of classs available for all ages and they have the most amazing and dedicated dance teachers. We are so happy to say that we are part of the 3M family.
~Leslie Van Dorp May 2019~

Love 3M with all my heart! Amazing people and dancers! I have made so many new friends and so many new memories at 3m! Amazing dance teachers! I love 3M!!πŸ’šπŸ’™

After 4 years of dance we made the big decision to switch studio's and come to 3M Dance Works, quickly I realized that it was the best choice. Aurora felt included right from the start and has grown so much in and out side of the studio in the 1 year here then she had in the 4 years prior. The staff encourage, help and challenge her to be her best. Thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do. Can't wait for the next year.
~Diane Kidd- Dance Mom~

Just want to say a BIG thank you to Vada for this year with Liv. I have noticed a big difference this year from last year. It’s her second year of dance and she’s still loving it. So you must be doing something right lol but seriously thank you and we will see you in the fall πŸ’™πŸ’š 3M is our home.
~Allie Dunford- Dance Mom~
When Ms Marvin found out about our family moving provinces she included our girls in the competitive showcase, so our girls would be able to dance and our family would be able to see what they have worked on before our move. We would like to show our gratitude for including our girls in the showcase, as we leave for Nova Scotia in the middle of April and unfortunately leave before recital. I don’t know too many other dance companies that would do this for a family that just started dancing with them.
~Jennifer Denniston- Dance Mom~

Issy was all smiles last Thursday after her summer dance classes. I haven't seen her glow like that in a long time. We came home and she did a performance for her dad and I. She loved all of the classes!! She loves that she gets to try so many different styles in one night. Her new favourite is lyrical. Thank you and we can't wait to see what the fall brings.
~Jenny Gardiner- Dance Mom~

My kids and I have had the absolute privilege of getting to know Ms. Marvin. My son was taught by her this past year and it was the first year ever he wanted to go to school. She listened to his interests and incorporated them throughout the year. She is a teacher he will always remember. Emma, my daughter, was incredibly lucky to have had Ms. Marvin as a dance teacher for two years (grade 6 and 7). You could not ask for a more dedicated, loving, kind person who always put the kids needs first. Ms. Marvin worked very hard in all aspects of the dance program teaching them respect, dedication, hard work, being part of a team, or more like a family, and how you treat others respectfully, even if you or they had a bad dance number. There are not many teachers left that would volunteer not only all her extra school time but work effortlessly at home as well. This past year I had the pleasure of getting to know her more and I could not ever ask for a better teacher for my kids no matter the subject. Ms. Marvin is not only a teacher to highly respect for her sometimes thankless hours but, also as a person to care that much for the kids she teaches that she can push through so many obstacles against her and keep her promises to the kids. She is someone I admire very much and am so grateful for all that she has done to give all the dancers an unforgettable experience. Ms. Marvin is not only an unforgettable teacher but also an unforgettable women who shows great passion for the love of teaching and dance. I think it's very heartwarming that she and daughter, Vada, have opened a Dance school and that Vada has also volunteered her time for the kids this year at the school.  It is a very positive - like mother like daughter - scenario. Thank you so much for being you! I hope this year I get to know you both even more.
-Rachel Andrus- Dance Mom

Hi Bonnie & Vada,
Thanks so much for an amazing dance year! Camden really enjoyed herself and seems to be opening up better and with more confidence. She'd only been dancing recreation for a year before she started at 3M, and is now enjoying it so much so that she would like to expand her dance knowledge  into a few different areas next year!!
Thx so much!
-Barb Read- Dance Mom

 Vada & Bonnie
 Wow, congratulations!!!πŸŽ‰
I'm soo happy for u guys and everyone involved. :)
And a special thank you for giving Ebany that award. It means soo much. It inspired a confidence in her quite like I've never seen before and as you could imagine, with anxiety disorder, that's one thing that she struggles with a lot - to believe in herself.
It was a proud moment that I'll never forget.
She's taking it to show and tell😊!
She just kept saying "MOM I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT". πŸ˜„
It was just wonderful.
We are now discussing dance for next year.
Thank you soo much!!!
-Debbra Gilmour- Dance Mom
We wanted to reach out to tell you how much our son is enjoying the recreational Hip Hop program!
He feels really welcome and likes the challenge of learning the choreographed moves.  Vada is a great instructor!  We are so impressed with his interest and new-found abilities!
He has been enrolled for 6 months and wants to expand to other dance styles because he's finding it so fun. His younger sister has now expressed interest in joining as well.  A couple of things have stood out for us beyond the lessons themselves that sets 3M apart.
  • The opportunity you have provided for the students to participate on stage with the competitive students. This has been an inspiration and a learning opportunity we did not expect.
  • The great Christmas party you organized on the side was a good group event that was so fun and welcoming to us newcomers!  We see how much you both care about the students!  We look forward to continuing in the program and telling others about 3M Danceworks.
-Cory and Wendy Fenton- Dance Parents
Thank you so much for a wonderful, fun filled year of dance for Kate and Molly.
They have enjoyed their time with you immensely!  It is always nice to pick them up
after dance and they are smiling. I asked them why they like this dance studio over the other studios we have been to in the past. Their response was that they love Vada because she makes dancing fun, and joins in.  She also asks for our opinion on dance moves which makes us feel included. We look forward to continuing to dance with 3M Dance Works!!
-Carolynn Sutherland- Dance Mom

This is my daughter's 1st year of dance and she loves it!  Ms. Vada and Ms. Emma have brought her out of her shell and she's doing so well.  She is already talking about what she wants to do next year and dance isn't over yet for this year.  I look forward to many years with 3M Dance Works.
-Allie Dunford- Dance Mom

My daughter has been dancing for 3M Dance Works for almost a year now. In this past year, since she has been dancing for 3M, she has developed a passion for something that I have never seen in her before.  The approach they take when teaching is unique to each student and the patience the teachers show to the students is remarkable. Not only has Chelsea developed an enormous amount of confidence, she has built strong friendships with her fellow dancers. Not only has my daughter developed close relationships, but I have as well.  The parents and children are becoming like an extended family, which in part, is due to the get togethers, like Christmas parties and trips to events, like White Christmas and STOMP.  3M truly feels more like a family than just a dance group.  I believe my daughter will dance for 3M for many years to come. I am constantly amazed how they encourage, inspire, and motivate dancers to strive to do there best.
